Geass, a power described by C.C. as the "Power of the King." Geass gives a user a special ability that can vary from user to user, it's full power and limitations are not completely known. At the moment C.C. is the only for sure known person who can bestow geass to a person. V.V. is another potential character who may be able to bestow geass however this hasn't been seen in the series yet, nor is it confirmed by any geass user.
General features of Geass:
-As far as we know it is only concealed in the eyes. It can be one eye (Lelouch, Roro) or both eyes (Charles Di Britannia, Mao)
-Geass seems to have a usable radius that varies from user to user.
-Geass potentially becomes stronger the more often it is used
-Geass potentially becomes harder to control as it grows stronger. How a person is able to overcome this is unknown at the moment.
Lelouch's Geass:
Lelouch's Geass is concealed in his left eye, his Geass allows him to forcefully control a person or a number of people at the same time. It's somewhat like hypnotism since the person who is geass-ed by Lelouch will have no memory of what happened. In the beginning Lelouch would be able to call on his geass by will, however the incident with Euphemia showed that Lelouch had lost this ability thus his geass is always activated. To counter this C.C. gives him a special contact lens that conceals his geass and can be removed if he wants to use it.
Limitations:
-Geass can only be used when there is direct eye contact(however a reflective surface works as well)
-Its effect can last even after eye contact is broken as long as the order/command was given when they had eye contact.
-The power can never be used twice on the same person
-Geass cannot force someone to do something beyond their mental or physical capability
-Geass can be used on as many people at the same time
-Geass has an approximately 270m radius from the user(according to Lelouch)
Mao's Geass:
Mao's Geass is concealed in both his eyes, by will he is able to read the minds of whoever he wants. However, Mao lost control of his geass years ago resulting it in being activated constantly.
Limitations:
-Geass is always active (so he at least hears the surface thoughts of everyone all the time)
-Geass has an approximately 500m radius from the user(according to C.C.)
-Depth of mind probe depends on concentration
Roro's Geass
Roro's geass is concealed in his right eye, unlike Lelouch, Mao and The Emperor of Britannia, Roro is able to call on his geass by will allowing him to stop time briefly. According to Episode 3, Roro seems to have a radial limitation to his geass as well. How big this usable area is, is unknown at the moment. Roro's geass also doesn't appear to require direct eye contact like Lelouch's. Who gave Roro his geass however is unknown.
Charles Di Britannia's Geass:
Like Mao, the Emperor of Britannia's geass is concealed within both eyes. However, it seems that he is able to call his geass by will as well like Roro. Charles' Geass allows him to erase and rewrite people's memories through eye contact. Wether this ability requires direct contact, or if it can be used on the same person more than once is unknown. Also, whether this is his only ability and who gave him this ability is unknown.
