6th+ Generation
6th+ Generation: ![]() (Note: When I say "6th+" I meant 6th Generation and beyond) The 6th Generation is often referred to as the "Missing Generation". Since the development of the Sutherland and the Gloucester, Knightmare frame development soon came to a halt. Although new breakthroughs through trials did result during this time, none of the results produced were concrete enough. Thus the reason why the 6th Generation was, as they say, "missing" The development of Lancelot was the one that broke the barrier of the 6th Generation. (As we all know, it's been mentioned in the series, that Lancelot is a 7th Generation knightmare). Developed by a key Knightmare frame development member of the applied engineering department of the Britannia Army(I assume they me Lloyd), Lanelot was developed by bringing in the OS frame material from the first 5(6-if you include the 6th Generation) generations into its concepts. First, Lancelot's frame itself is constructed with a differing amount of Sakuradite. Normally Sakuradite would be used for it's Coalminus core for the Yggdrasil Drive to power the Knightmare itself. However, spreading the Sakuradite through the frame allowed Lancelot to produce overwhelming power. With a high production, additional technologies such as the MVS(I think they mean the swords that Lancelot is equipped with) and electromagnetic shielding could be installed. Sakuradite was also used in the Variable Ammunition Repulsion Impact Spitfire (VARIS[vuarisu]), a stock rifle(?) made to help Lancelot withstand a direct hit attack. It was because of these things that made Lancelot a unique frame in the 7th Generation. In the future of Knightmare frame development there are two paths one can take. The first would be to find a cheap way to mass produce the technology developed in the 7th Generation (Lacelot's technology) or to go back to the technologies developed in the 6th Generation and build on that to develop a 7th Generation Knightmare other than Lancelot.(Such as the Guren Nishiki-which is similar to the technology for Lancelot, and thus could be considered as "Another Seventh Generation." (Note: This was how far the main site covered up to, unfortunately the written history did not cover the development of knightmares such as Gawain - but, in some aspect one could also consider it to fit under 6th or 7th Generation considering how much power it can also produce with so few known weapons.) |
